Behind the Drawing
Why I Made the Blue Monster
I really like monsters. Not the scary kind — the kind that are big and a little bit silly and like to splash in puddles. So one rainy day I decided to draw one.
I started with the eyes because that's how you know what a monster is feeling. My monster has happy eyes. Then I drew a big round body and lots of little arms, because more arms means more waving.
I colored it all blue and teal so it would feel like rain. I think it's having the best day. When it became a print, I was so happy because now other people can have the blue monster too.
“Monsters are nicer than people think.”
